WHO WE ARE ...

What is a Transition Town (or village / city / forest / island)?

It all starts off when a small collection of motivated individuals within a community come together with a shared concern: how can our community respond to the challenges, and opportunities, of Peak Oil, Climate Change, Financial Crises?

This website is an Initiating Hub for towns and suburbs that want to begin taking responsibility for their own sustainability, in the light of climate change, economic instability, possible electricity and water shortages, inadequate municipal services, and rising fuel and food costs.

TEAM = Together Everyone Achieves More

Our goals

  • To empower communities to respond effectively to energy and infrastructure limitations as well as rapidly increasing fuel prices.
  • To educate towards a reduction in consumption, energy efficiency and conservation awareness
  • To build community consciousness and strengthen the local economy through supporting local initiatives.
LOCAL MONEY! BUY LOCAL! EAT LOCAL! GROW LOCAL! LOCAL ENERGY!
