I believe a credit free economy (no money or any form of barter) is needed if we want to achieve real success in fighting the global environmental and economic crises facing us today but a transition is needed to get there in an orderly way, as th...

The Community Exchange System (CES) is a community-based, global trading network using a money other than our familiar national one: an alternative, parallel, local, community or complementary currency system. In short, the CES is a new money system.

To really make a difference in reducing our energy needs we have to make much more radical lifestyle changes than just learning to flick a switch when we don't need a room to be illuminated. Everything we consume needs energy in it's manufacturing...

There are obstacles. Firstly the manual is a strange size (square) and a bad cut out of A4 that we use for digital printing. Also it is in two colours and in order to get it to a reasonable cost we only do one colour text. Covers are usually full colour. Dawn did tell me that you can download it from Green Books web site, but I have quite frankly been hectically busy lately> I will have another look next week when I get back from exhibiting at the Natural & Organic Products Expo. If you are attending, please drop by at stand C20. Love to see you! Robin

Thanks Dawn. TSA seems like a very worthwhile and inspiring effort and I'm excited to be a part of it. It's about time we used technology to get back to our roots. Here's to much more. xxe

Thought it was Hanna, but, of course, couldn't find her. It'll be interesting to see if I get a response from either of the two others whom I queried. If you can, please send Hanna my email adress and cell number:

Dear Dawn, Firstly thanks for the energy that you put into getting TT going in SA & CT. Chris and I really enjoy the meetings and are inspired by the positive attitude and creative ideas of the participants. Meeting with people who are pro-active about our future is a tonic. It compensates for pervasive media reporting that seems to be hell-bent on destroying belief that there are positive alternatives and connectivity between people. Having said this, I am not comfortable about starting a group in my area. I am already an active role-player in a number of groups and am involved (like many of the rest of you in community projects / activities). Starting a specific TT project is also a problem, unless the TT movement accepts that a lot of what we do in our community is part of the TT vision. eg. yesterday I linked the households in my street with a recycler who collects once a week. The intention is to link this service to all in Clovelly via the Neighbourhood watch newsletter. We also swop veg seedlings with a number of neighbours who are keen gardners. I certainly don't want to go thru all the `stuff' that Chris and I do that is linked to TT visions / objectives just want you to know that we don't just come to meetings and talk. Chris is talking to Peter about a school based wind energy demonstration project - but it is still too early to identify as a project. If / When we do have an authentic TT project where do we post it. And where can we find out about the projects of other TT members - as some of the projects are likely to overlap, obviously we can learn from each other. It is too clumsy to go into the site of each TT member to read about their projects. Or maybe the projects are listed and I am the clumsy one.
allthebest, KimK

Hi Dawn

Please remove Fred Olsen, he's a spammer who has nothing to do with this community. If you're not sure what I mean, look at any of the posts he has made, they're all blatant advertising for his company.

Thanks
