ALTARS OF THE HOLY ONE
Milky breath of the buffalo
On starry plains
Fireflies dance in the night
A woman groans with birth pangs
Of transformation
Tree people crucified
Yet still they stand
Flowers sing silent hallelujahs
Kaleidoscopes of color and scent
Tall grass prairie of our mother
Whispers her lullabies
Monarch butterflies traverse continents
Going home, gathering in one tree
An old nun kneels on earth
Kisses a dying Calcutta slum child
Mother Teresa sees Jesus looking back
Into…

INVOCATION

A miracle is the wholehearted invocation
of the Divine, combined with suspension
of all disbelief
Allowing the Other World to
Shatter and reconstitute this world.
Through Invocation, the dead are raised
and the blind see again.
Invocation is how the multitudes of the hungry are fed
and all good deeds come to full fruit.
Brot…

I learnt today that I dropped a ball which should have been taken up by everyone. Instead only Anthony Turton and Mariette Liefferink dealt with it.
Within the next few years, we are going to have water provided from plants being set up to recycle Acid Mine Water for drinking! A petition against this was signed by only 100 people. I was aware of the EIA, which in fact was only for the building of the pipelines and the plants, but not of the intended use for the product or that there was a petit…

I found this great piece online the other day and thought it spoke volumes, even though it was written 40 years ago.
I edited it a bit to make it more contemporary...here it is.
"When in the course of organic evolution it becomes obvious that a mutational process is inevitably dissolving the physical and neurological bonds which connect the members of one generation to the past and inevitably directing them to assume among the species of Earth the separate and equal station to which the Laws…

What is veganism?
Although almost all of us know what vegetarianism is, veganism remains far less well understood. In fact, the majority of people have trouble distinguishing between these two terms and even some self-professed vegetarians are unsure of the distinction!
Once you start going into more detail, it gets even worse - there are lacto-vegetarians ('lacto' means 'milk', or more generally, 'dairy'), lacto-ovo-vegetarians (ovo means 'eggs'), 'strict' vegetarians, 'pure' vegetaria…

Introduction
Although the warnings of impending environmental catastrophe were hotly contended a few years ago (most tellingly by high-paid corporate lobby groups), few people now deny that many of the essential natural systems that sustain all life on Earth are threatened by human activity.
Among countless other horrors, vast expanses of richly biodiverse Amazon rainforest have been decimated to make way for crops planted for biofuel and livestock feed, use of non-renewable energy reso…

I discovered a wonderful free newsletter which focuses on developing trends (OK, it's trendy) but showcases great new developments in energy products ..... a hand held windmill to attach to your bicycle or car which stores energy to power your cell phone or iPod. Solar panels built into clothes, briefcases to do the same thing.
Eco-friendly architecture ..... buildings and cities aligned to the correct latitude to use solar energy and wind turbines efficiently; self-sufficient high-tech cities…

As an EFT practitioner I was fascinated to hear Dr Chris Smith of The Naked Scientists talk on Redi Direko's show on Cape Talk radio about a discovery which has been able to show that an enzyme (PKMzeta) controls the way we access memory.
Basically, when we form an impression or memory, it is structured through the interlinking of neural synapses in the brain. These pathways are cemented by this enzyme, which will enable the brain to re-produce the impression when we wish to recall it. This app…

I know that many people are thinking about growing their own vegetables and herbs, especially now that everything is getting so expensive.
A great source of information is Urban Sprout, who have a regular newsletter and eco-directories. Sign up for their newsletter at www.urbansprout.co.za
One of the local gardening experts is Abalimi, who have been establishing township gardens and advising on setting up your own household vegetable garden.
